Object | Dries Van Noten - Elegance Cardigan
I think I've mentioned it before but I've got sort of a thing for purple clothes. Not the bright purple kind, but darker, more full shades of purple. In my opinion it's a really great accent color that compliments a lot of other ones. So, it's pretty much a no-brainer that this cardigan from Dries Van Noten is right up my alley. It's a thinly knitted cardigan in a soft cotton/alpaca mix. Unlike most cardigans the fit isn't bulky but rather slim and a bit longer which I appreciate. The belt is also a nice detail that gives this piece an extra dose of that elegance the name alludes to.

Advent Calendar | #21 Dries Van Noten - "Preston" Wool Pants
The belgian master of tailoring strikes once again. Dries Van Noten brings us these exquisitely tailored wool pants called "Preston" via Scandinavia's finest, Très Bien Shop. The only problem with these beauties is that they're no longer available in my size. Bummer!

Advent Calendar | #10 Bleu De Paname - 'Snow' Pullover Ecru
We forgot to mention one type of Christmas pullover when we discussed them the other day. We're talking of course of the "relative sweater". You know which one.
Either you're mother bought you it at that lovely local knitting shop or some well-meaning older relative took the time to knit it herself (It's always a female, men don't do that kind of stuff). And even though it's horrible, to say the least, you don't have the heart to say that to your beloved aunt Edna, so you're stuck wearing it for the durations of the holidays.
Bleu De Paname's "Snow" pullover is kind of like that, only the opposite. The cozy feeling of the knit is there but instead of Christmas motives in the craziest of colorschemes, this has a simple snow-flake pattern across the chest in either ecru/navy or navy/ecru. Eye-catching, yes, but in a much more subtle way. And the fit actually resembles the shape of your body. So as soon as you've left the comfort and company of your family be sure to switch to this one instead. Sorry, aunt Edna.

Advent Calendar | #9 Dries Van Noten - 'Robbins' Wool Coat
As many options as there are out there when it comes to outerwear, if you wan't to look truly sophisticated and grown up, there's no way around it, there's only one option: the wool coat. The mother of all outerwear. The classic. And since it's a classic you should try and keep it that way. That means no crazy experimental details and stick to basic colours like dark grey, navy or black.
My own personal favorite comes from the noted minimalist Dries Van Noten who definitely has got it nailed down. Small notched lapel, single-breasted, three buttoned. Two jetted pockets, one breast pocket and three internal. A slim silhouette and a single vent in the back. That's all it takes to perfect a classic.

The Style Is Right | The Perfect Tee
Sometimes you just want to keep it simple. Nobody really wants to spend an hour contemplating their outfit on a sleepy monday morning. Luckily, there's a special outfit for such occasions. It's called the "perfect t-shirt and jeans"-outfit. It takes some mastering, but done right it's as stylish as it is easy.Somebody who's got it nailed it down is Très Bien Shop, which they show in the styling for this t-shirt. Sometimes all it takes is that tee which fits you perfectly, your favourite pair of jeans and a nice pair of worn-in boots. Throw on a jacket and your good to go. The pieces in this styling are all Our Legacy, but any brands will work just fine. I myself wore a similar outfit yesterday; a grey t-shirt from Our Legacy, a pair of A.P.C. jeans and a pair of boots from god knows where. As long as you feel comfortable in it, it will work. And that will show.

External | Inside Très Bien Shop
For those of you who haven't gotten around to visit the bricks-and-mortar store of Très Bien Shop yet, or if you haven't been there in a while, they have put up some pictures of the store taken by Jeffery Richt showcasing both the venue and some of the AW09 goodies. If you haven't been there it's about god damn time you go there. Seriously, it's well worth the trip.More pics here.

Object | Dries Van Noten - Desert Bag
Some things are more exciting to buy than others. Shoes, bags and accesories are always easy ways to give your wardrobe that much-needed injection. Lately a number of good offerings has caught my eye so I'd thought I'd share them with you.First out is this desert bag from the belgian designer Dries Van Noten. A bit on the expensive side maybe, but we all have to indulge ourselves every once in a while, don't we? The pictures, as usual, don't really do this one justice so if you have the opportunity I suggest you check it out in person. For those of you who don't have that opportunity I can tell you a few things about it. It's a duffle/weekend bag (who can tell the difference anymore?) in a beautiful, beat-up looking sand colored canvas with brown leather handles and detailing. The shoulder strap is removable. Another interesting detail on this one is the flap that runs straight across the bag. Très Bien got it, if you like me have a thing for impulsive buying.

Object | Our Legacy - Deck Shoe Blue
Both the boat shoe and the classic white sneaker has gotten their due attention this season, and even the loafer is brought forward by some as the summer shoe. Sadly, the deck shoe hasn't got nearly the same attention. Luckily, we're here to correct that misstake. Our Legacy (you didn't think we were gonna forget our weekly dose of them did you?) has you covered, as always. Our french friend Who's Ali swears by them as the definitive summer shoe of this season and there's not much left for us to do but to join in on his claim. Simple, elegant and with that marine vibe that's always essential for your summer outfits.
The blue is a classic but for those of you who prefer something else, they're also available in white and red.

Object | Opening Ceremony - Suede Desert Boot
I just realized that though we're frequently posting shorts, one of the most crucial parts of your wardrobe has been experience a serious lack of love from us lately. I'm talking about shoes of course. The piece that can make or break a whole outfit. These suede desert boots from Opening Ceremony has been doing the rounds on the blogs and the world wide web, especially the blue one, so there's really no need for me to give a lengthy introduction. You know the deal already; the desert boot is a timeless style and Opening Ceremony does one of the nicest-looking versions out there. I just wanted to push a bit for the most classic color of them all, the khaki brown. The blue is nice, the black is sharp, the brown leather one will age beautifully but if you want the original look, this is it. Available at Très Bien Shop.

Object | Kitsuné - Western Shirt
As a follow up to yesterday's post on western shirts, I thought I'd post this one by french label Kitsuné. In my opinion, this is the best one I've seen so far.Not much to say about. Made in soft washed denim with mother of pearl buttons, two chest pockets and the trademark fox embroidered in gold above the left pocket.
Available at (who else?) Très Bien Shop.

Object | Just In - Our Legacy Camo Pant
Our Legacy is mixing it up with their classic chino, which now comes in a camo print.
Honestly, I'm not crazy about this one. Guess it's the bad memories from middle-school. You know that bully, three times the size as anyone else and always wearing baggy camo pants, who used to spend his recession beating up random kids out on the playground? Well, he kind of ruined camo pants for me forever. Only way I could justify this is if I were actually serving in the armed forces, and I'm not, so I think I'll pass on these ones.Have to give Tres Bien some points for the styling though. The boots give the outfit that military touch that is essential in order to pull this off, while the white cable knit subdues it just enough to not make it look like a costume. And you gotta love the caption:
"Our Legacy - Not so classic chino"
